Jae Won E. Chung was born in 1980 in Seoul and immigrated to the United States in 1990. His translations include, among others, the short stories “The Glass Shield” by Kim Jung-hyuck and “The Door” by Hwang Jung-eun, which won the Commendation Prize in Fiction from 38th Korean Times Translation Awards. He also won the grand prize in fiction from KLTI’s 7th Korean Literature Translation Contest for New Translators. He is currently a student at Columbia University’s M.F.A. program in fiction and finishing his short story collection titled Interference. He lives in New York.
Sora Kim-Russell is a poet, translator, and wannabe fiction writer. She received the grand prize in poetry from the Korea Times 36th Modern Korean Literature Translation Awards, and the grand prize in fiction from KLTI’s 6th Korean Literature Translation Contest for New Translators. Her writing has appeared in Pebble Lake Review, The Diagram, Onthebus, and other publications. She lives in a tiny apartment in Seoul, Korea, overlooking an air raid siren.
Gitte Zschoch was born in East Germany. After having sojourned in Amsterdam, Paris and Munich, she currently lives in Seoul where she is working on a M.A. in Modern Korean Poetry. She is more or less fluent in German, English, French and Korean. When she is not hiding behind books or laptop screens, she enjoys traveling, photographing, drumming and, though neglected, writing poetry. Her German blog can be reached at bittegitte.blogspot.com.
